How it Started

Updated: Nov 27, 2024

I moved to the South Bay in 2019, and found a beach-side apartment right at Knob Hill in Redondo Beach. Every morning, I would walk my pup, Lynda, and soak in the morning views of the ocean - dolphins, birds, and surfers.

Coffee was a big part of my morning routine. I would hand grind some local beans, do a quick pour over while feeding the pup, then head out to our surf check spot to see what the waves were doing. I'd chat with local surfers, complain that the waves were crap, then still suit up and paddle out.

No matter the surf conditions, sharing that morning surf check with other local surfers while sipping on a good cup of a coffee was always the perfect way to start the day. My passions for surf and coffee grew to near obsession, and now I find myself endlessly researching international coffee producers that are environementally sustainable, with a goal of sourcing the best green coffee beans to roast and share.
